1) Why do some people derive pleasure from the misfortunes of those who are exceedingly blessed than they are?
Unfair, opposite, opposed, contrary, reverse, contradictory, conflicting, prejudice, bias, could delineate a lot of things in our world. Just like “Rich and Poor” or simply “Blessed or Cursed”. Blessed are those prosperous or lucky, and for the eyes of the hapless were envy and jealousy. That is the reason why they derive pleasure when fortunate people experience misfortunes.
Circumstances like this is familiar especially when rich and poor were not only opposite but also loathe each other. Misfortunate people thought that it would be fair if fortunate will feel what they have felt and do what they have done.
I guess this instance could happen inside the jail. When a new prisoner came, whom they knew to be a rich person outside, they usually let him work hard or sacrifice just what they had experienced. Maybe they thought that in that case, they could show rich people the fairness of reality.
Sometimes, it happens in a community. If a very rich family turned their mansion into a smaller one, their branded clothes into rag-like styles, this would totally catch the attention of every one, especially those people who are lower than them. Most of the time, they won’t just talk about it and spread it all over their place, what’s worse is the way they laugh and judge this misfortunes of the “used to be” fortunate people.
For me, these situations have two faces. First, the environment they belong to, and second, their real veins.
If the environment they belong derive pleasure at the misfortunes of exceedingly blessed than they are, they could also adapt it. While if they feel revenge or just jealousy in their own minds, if they were really thinking of the unfairness, they would definitely like the antagonists to get down.
If we find ourselves different from others, and we look at it as if they were greater that’s why we should pity ourselves, we already need to stop it, instead, look at the purpose of what you have right now. Look at the blessed person as an inspiration, and try to be like them.
